Environmental
Engineering Challenge Scholarship
The Environmental Engineering Department
awards scholarships from sponsors such
as CITGO Refining and Chemicals, the
South Texas Section of the American
Institute of Mining, Metallurgical,
and Petroleum Engineers (AIME), Valero
Energy Corporation, the Dotterweich
College of Engineering, and the College
of Graduate Studies . These scholarships
are typically for an amount of $1,000
and entitle the student to achieve in-state
tuition rates. The first deadline for
submission of scholarship applications
is April 15th. The first meeting of
the Scholarship Committee is on or about
May 1st, and it also meets at several
times during the year at times to be
determined.

The Department also offers research
assistantships and stipends to qualified
students through faculty research contracts
and the South Texas Environmental Institute
and the CREST-RESSACA Center . Please
