Environmental
Lab Operation Policies
Safety
along with
state-of-the-art
research is the primary
goal for the operation
of the Environmental
Engineering
Laboratories. All
students, faculty and
staff are expected to
adhere to the University
policies [http://ppo.tamuk.edu/ehs].
Additionally, internal
group training is given
frequently for lab
safety, operations in
the field, electrical
instrumentation
operation, and working
with pressurized gas.
The
internal lab safety
instruction for our
students, faculty and
staff is outlined in the
following files.
All our personnel must
review and follow these
protocols to protect
themselves and others in
the laboratories and the
field.

Living Labs
for Academics and Research
(LLAR) - Field Sites
The
LLAR locations within
the group create
field
scale facilities for
research on environmental
sustainability for semi-arid
coastal areas and serve to evaluate impacts
of sustainable technologies
as solutions for environmental
problems in semi-arid
areas. Example field
scale sites include
constructed wetlands for
water treatment, field
scale biofiltration
applications, and air
quality monitoring
stations.
Environmental
Engineering Research
Equipment
The advanced
equipment and the well
trained faculty in environmental
engineering help the
students achieve
critical knowledge and experience,
in environmental studies
and solutions. All students
have access
to state-of-the-art
instrumentation and
field equipment.
Computation Facilities
The
laboratories also have excellent
computational resources
to which all students have
access. State-of-the-art
software and hardware
resources are available
in classrooms, research
labs, and a new High
Performance computing
Center.
